Soviet Medal for the Defense of Kiev with document
Awarded to Ivan Alekseevich Skvortsov (Иван Алексеевич Скворцов)
Made of gold plated brass. Measures 32.13 mm in width, 37.14 mm in height including its eyelet and weighs 16.5 grams without its suspension.
The medal is in a nice overall condition with its details still visible and light wear on the higher laying parts. There are several dings and scratches and a some of the gold plating is still present on both sides. Its suspension and ribbon are time period to the medal.
Its accompanying document is dated 31 May 1965 and numbered ‘248900’
The Medal “For the Defence of Kiev” was awarded to all participants in the defence of the Hero-City of Kiev – Soviet Army soldiers and troops of the former NKVD, as well as all the workers who participated in the defense of Kiev in the ranks of the militia, in the construction of fortifications, who worked in factories serving the needs of the front, members of the Kiev underground and partisans who fought against the enemy near Kiev.
