Awarded to Guards Private Grigory Yakovlevich Kotelevets (Григорий Яковлевич Котелевец)
Variation 2 with a u-shaped eyelet struck as part of the medal
Made of brass. Measures 32.10 mm in width, 36.97 mm in height including its eyelet and it weighs 17.4 grams without its suspension.
This medal is in excellent condition with its details crisp and most of the original gold-like luster still visible. Both sides show relatively few dings and scratches and the brass suspension is time period to the medal.
Its accompanying booklet is in problem free condition. It is dated 27 May 1947 and numbered ‘Б 411878’
The Medal “For the Capture of Berlin” was awarded to soldiers of the Red Army, Navy, and troops of the NKVD, direct participants of the assault and capture of the city as well as to the organizers and leaders of combat operations in the capture of this city.
