Description
Soviet Medal for the Capture of Berlin variation 2 (U-shaped eyelet)
Made of gilded brass. Measures 32.15 mm in width, 37.08 mm in height including the eyelet and it weighs 17.4 gram without its suspension.
In excellent condition with its details visible and most of gold plating still present. The reverse of the medal shows some corrosion and traces of wear. There are relatively few dings and scratches and the medal comes with its time period brass suspension.
The Medal “For the Capture of Berlin” was awarded to soldiers of the Red Army, Navy, and troops of the NKVD, direct participants of the assault and capture of the city as well as to the organizers and leaders of combat operations in the capture of this city.
