Soviet Medal for the Capture of Berlin variation 1
Medal for the Capture of Berlin: made of gilded brass. Measures 32.02 mm in width; 37.36 mm in height, including the eyelet and it weighs 17.0 gram.
This medal is in a nice condition. Most details are still visible even though the medal has been worn a lot. The medal developed a lovely patina over time which gives it a great eye appeal. The double layer steel suspension is time period to the medal and the open ends of the connection ring has been soldered together.
The Medal “For the Capture of Berlin” was awarded to soldiers of the Red Army, Navy, and troops of the NKVD, direct participants of the assault and capture of the city as well as to the organizers and leaders of combat operations in the capture of this city.
