Soviet Medal for the Capture of Berlin
Relatively scarce variation with a round eyelet struck as part of the medal
Made of gilded brass. Measures 32.66 mm in width, 37.15 mm in height including its eyelet and it weighs 15.6 gram without its suspension.
This medal is in nice condition with its details crisp and a fair amount of gold plating still present. Both sides show some light corrosion but relatively few dings and scratches. The brass suspension and ribbon is time period to the medal.
The Medal “For the Capture of Berlin” was awarded to soldiers of the Red Army, Navy, and troops of the NKVD, direct participants of the assault and capture of the city as well as to the organizers and leaders of combat operations in the capture of this city.
