Soviet Medal for the Capture of Berlin variation 1
Made of gilded brass. Measures 32.15 mm in width, 37.45 mm in height including the eyelet and it weighs 17.1 gram without its suspension.
This medal is in excellent, above average condition with most gold plating present. The details are all visible and there are several small dings and scratches but none destracting from the overall appeal of the medal. The aluminium suspension is a post war replacement.
The Medal “For the Capture of Berlin” was awarded to soldiers of the Red Army, Navy, and troops of the NKVD, direct participants of the assault and capture of the city as well as to the organizers and leaders of combat operations in the capture of this city.
