Soviet Medal for the Capture of Berlin
Variation 1 with a separately soldered eyelet
Made of gilded brass. Measures 32.14 mm in width, 37.02 mm in height including the eyelet and it weighs 17.3 gram without its suspension.
This medal is in excellent condition with much gold plating present. The details are all visible although there are several small dings and scratches. The brass suspension is time period to the medal and both sides show an appealing patine.
The Medal “For the Capture of Berlin” was awarded to soldiers of the Red Army, Navy, and troops of the NKVD, direct participants of the assault and capture of the city as well as to the organizers and leaders of combat operations in the capture of this city.
