Solid silver piece with a ‘flat’ eyelet. The earliest and most rare variation of this medal
Made of solid silver. It measures 32.06 mm in width and 2.99 mm in thickness. The height of the medal is 37.22 mm including its eyelet and it weighs 21.9 grams without its suspension.
The medal is in excellent condition with crisp details. It shows light wear only and even the details of the higher laying parts are perfectly visible. Both sides show an appealing dark patina with beautiful ‘rainbow-like’ toning and its connection ring has not been cut. The medal comes with its time period brass suspension and old ribbon.
Scarce piece and hard to upgrade!
Awarded to KGB Border Troops personnel for military or other actions displaying excellence in guarding the Soviet borders.
