Medal for Combat Merit #894126
Made of solid silver and lacquer. Measures 32.27 mm in diameter and 2.31 mm in thickness. The height of the medal is 37.26 mm including the eyelet and it weighs 18.0 grams without its suspension.
In a great, well above average condition with light to medium overall wear. There are few dings and scratches on either side and almost all of the original red lacquer is still present. Its connection ring has not been cut and the medal comes with its time period double layer suspension.
Probably awarded during the first months of 1944 so with nice research potential
This military medal awarded for “combat action resulting in a military success”; “courageous defence of the state borders”; or “successful military and political training and preparation”. Also awarded for 10 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
