Soviet Medal for Combat Merit #861556
Made of solid silver and lacquer. Measures 32.13 mm in diameter and 2.27 mm in thickness. The height of the medal is 37.28 mm including the eyelet and it weighs 18.4 gram without its suspension.
In a great, above average condition with medium overall wear. There are several small dings and scratches but all of the original red lacquer is still present. Its connection ring has not been cut and the medal comes with its time period double layer suspension and old ribbon.
Probably awarded during the first months of 1944 so with nice research potential
This military medal awarded for “combat action resulting in a military success”; “courageous defence of the state borders”; or “successful military and political training and preparation”. Also awarded for 10 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
