Awarded to Master Sgt. of the medical corps Valentina Ivanovna Izotova (Валентина Ивановна Изотова)
For rendering medical aide to 40 solders and officers disregarding the impeding danger
Made of solid silver and red lacquer. Measures 32.28 mm in diameter and 2.21 mm in thickness. The height of the medal is 37.11 mm including the eyelet and it weighs 17.9 gram without its suspension.
The medal for Combat Merit is in great, well above average condition with relatively few small dings and scratches. Its details are mostly visible and all of the red lacquer is still present. Its connection ring has not been cut and its suspension time period to the medal.
Scarce award to a female!

“Comrade IZOTOVA proved herself as a brave and energetic nurse during the period of combat operation. In an enemy air strike against our brigade moving vehicle column on 03 August 1943, up to 40 our men were wounded. Comrade IZOTOVA, disregarding the impeding danger, rendered medical aide to the wounded officers and the enlisted men.”
