Description
Medal for Combat Merit #271710
To Sr. Sgt. Yakov Ivanovich Trubaev (Яков Иванович Трубаев)
Awarded for his excellent work for repairing the gun pieces
Made of solid silver and lacquer. The medal itself measures 32.23 mm in diameter and 36.51 mm in height including the eyelet. It weighs 17.7 grams without its suspension and 25.9 grams with the suspension but without the nut. The eyelet is 5.44 mm in width and the suspension measures 25.15 mm in width at its narrowest point and 31.43 at its widest point.
The medal is in great, above average condition with several small dings and scratches but nothing distracting from the overall appeal of the medal. The higher laying parts like the sword and sabre show light to medium wear with many details perfectly visible. Most of the red lacquer (80-90%) is still present but covered in a thick layer of dirt. Its silver suspension is original as is the brass screw, the hexogen nut and the plate holding the ribbon. The screwplate is old but does not belong to this medal. Its connection ring has not been cut.
