Made of solid silver and lacquer. It measures 32.35 mm in diameter and 2.19 mm in thickness at the very edge of the medal. The height of the medal is 37.59 mm (including its eyelet) and it weighs 18.0 gram without its suspension.
This original WW2 medal for Combat Merit medal is in excellent condition with light wear on the higher laying parts. The red lacquer mostly present (apx 95%) and the connection ring between the medal and suspension has not been cut. Its suspension is of a later type.
Most likely awarded during the winter of 1944/45
This military medal awarded for “combat action resulting in a military success”; “courageous defence of the state borders”; or “successful military and political training and preparation”. Also awarded for 10 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
