Soviet Medal for Combat Merit #153490
Awarded to Major Evgeny Appolinarovich Kulchitsky (Евгений Апполинарович Кульчицкий)
For contributing to the brigade’s success by ensuring the units always received their combat dispatches in proper time
Made of solid silver and lacquer. The medal itself measures 32.36 mm in diameter and 37.05 mm in height including the eyelet. It weighs 22.3 gram without its suspension and 31.3 gram with the suspension but without the nut. The eyelet is 5.48 mm in width and the suspension measures 25.31 mm in width at its narrowest point and 31.25 at its widest point.
The medal is in a nice, about average condition with several small dings and scratches and medium wear on the higher laying parts. The lacquer filling the letters ‘CCCP’ is mostly present and original although discoloured over time. The silver suspension is authentic as is the silver screw, hexagon nut, the brass screwplate containing the text ‘Monetnij Dvor’ and the plate holding the ribbon. Its connection ring has been cut.

Recommendation for the medal “FOR COMBAT MERITS”
Comrade KULCHITSKY has been serving in the brigade since the first day of its formation. From the first day and until the brigade began its combat operations, he dedicated a lot of effort to task of delivering the training materials and training schedule to the units. During the combat period since 03 September 1942, comrade KULCHITSKY correctly and effectively led the documentation process and ensured that the combat documentation was delivered neatly to the units. On some occasions, comrade KULCHITSKY spent 20 hours in a row in preparing the combat documentation with the combat order for the units. Thanks to his effort, the units always received their combat dispatches in proper time. Thus, comrade KULCHITSKY contributed to the brigades success.
