Medal for Combat Merit #1229518
Made of solid silver. It measures 32.27 mm in diameter and 2.23 mm in thickness. The height of the medal is 36.99 mm (including the eyelet) and it weighs 17.5 gram without its suspension.
This original WW2 medal for Combat Merit medal is in worn condition with strong wear on the higher laying parts. The red lacquer is all gone its connection ring between the medal and suspension has been cut. The suspension is of a newer type but the ribbon seems to be old.
Not the best piece but still an original wartime piece with nice research potential.
This military medal awarded for “combat action resulting in a military success”; “courageous defence of the state borders”; or “successful military and political training and preparation”. Also awarded for 10 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
