Medal for Bravery #93891

Аркадий Васильевич Сухих

Awarded to Guards private Arkadij Vasilievich Sukhikh (Аркадий Васильевич Сухих)

For repairing over 50 telephone wire cuts under intensive mortar and automatic small arms fire. When the section commander was taken out of action, he assumed command and responsibility over the area

Made of solid silver. Measures 37.04 mm in diameter and 2.85 mm in thickness. The height of the medal is 41.86 mm including its eyelet and it weighs 30.6 grams without its suspension.

The medal is in nice condition with medium overall wear. The details of the higher laying parts like the rivets on the side of the tank and the canons are all visible but the red lacquer filling the lettering is all gone. Its rectangular suspension was replaced by a pentagon shaped one to comply with the post-1943 regulations. He changed it himself as can be seen in the picture of Sukhikh.
