Description
Soviet Medal for Bravery #147295
Made of solid silver. The medal for Bravery measures 37.32 mm in diameter, 42.32 mm in height including the eyelet and it weighs 29.3 gram without its suspension.
The medal is in nice condition with most details crisp. There are many dings and scratches on both sides which gives it a real combat look. The original red lacquer seems to have been replaced by the veteran a long time ago. The double layer steel suspension is old but a replacement for the early rectangular suspension. These had to be changed as a result of the new regulations on wearing Soviet awards of 1943.
At first glance the connection ring appears to be cut but when looking closely, it is clearly visible that it is soldered by the mint (see closeup in the picture gallery).
Probably awarded during the winter of 1942-1943 so with excellent research potential! Â Â
