Soviet Maternity Medal 2nd class
Made out of gold plated brass and enamels. The medal measures 29.54 mm in diameter, 34.27 mm in height including its eyelet and weighs 13.6 grams without its suspension.
In great condition with all details crisp and most of the gold plating still present. The enamels show minor chipping but is without repairs.
The Soviet Maternity medal 2nd class was awarded to all mothers raising 5 children. It was awarded at the first birthday of the last child, provided that five other children stayed alive. Children who had died under ‘respectful’ circumstances were also counted.
