Honorary Badge to Youth Mentor (Komsomol)
Made of silver plated brass. Medallion is of a riveted two-piece construction. It measures 31.98 mm in height inclding its eyelet, 30.41 mm in width and weighs 16 gram without its suspension. Inscribed in raised letters on the reverse “Badge of the VTsSPS (All-Union Central Committee of Trade Unions) and TsK (Central Committee) of VLKSM. Both the medallion and suspension have raised logo of the Leningrad Mint on the reverse.
The badge is in near mint condition and comes with its time period suspension. The details are well preserved and the badge shows no dings and scratches on either side.
All-Union Leninist Young Communist League, usually known as Komsomo, was a political youth organization in the Soviet Union. It is sometimes described as the youth division of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU), although it was officially independent and referred to as “the helper and the reserve of the CPSU”.
