Hero of Socialist Labor Gold Star #15443

 

Awarded to the Lithuanian economic figure and deputy of the Supreme Council of the Lithuanian SSR (9th convocation) Antanas Juozovičius Saulevičius (Антанас Юозович Саулявичюс)

 

 

Made of solid 23 carat gold. It measures 33.39 mm in height including the eyelet, 32.13 mm in width and weighs 14.6 grams without its suspension. The text Герой Социалистического Труда (Hero of Socialist Labor) is located at the center of the reverse. The suspension is authentic to the medal and measures 26.45 mm in width at his widest point and 21.51 mm in height at its narrowest point. The minimum know serial number of this variation is 10705 and the maximum is 21082.

 

The star is in superb condition with sharp tips and edges of its rays and crisp details on the hammer and sickle. The letters on the reverse are pristine as is the serial number. The suspension includes its original rectangular plate, hexagon nut and screwplate. The connection ring between the suspension and the medal has not been cut and its screw has not been shortened.

Born in 1921 in Rutka. Member of the CPSU since 1959.

From 1953 to 1981 he was a driver for the Alytus motor transport column of the Ministry of Motor Transport of the Lithuanian SSR.

By the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 4, 1971, he was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the Order of Lenin and the gold medal “Hammer and Sickle”.
