Soviet GTO Badge (Ready for Labor and Defense) #74537 (1936-1940)
This badge is made of solid silver and enamels. The main medallion measures 36.44 mm in height and 27.19 mm in width. The complete badge without screwplate weighs 14.4 gram. The three silver hallmarks and its serial number can be found on its reverse.
The badge is in excellent, well above average condition. The enamel is beautiful and absolutely flawless and its details are perfect and crisp. The chain, suspension and screwplate are original to the badge and both sides show an appealing patina. Unfortunately part of the stickpin on its reverse has broken off. Its functionality however is not affected since it still can be attached with the screw and screwplate.
A stunning pre war piece and next to impossible to upgrade. Scarce as such!
