Order of the Red Banner #382083

Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 45.45 mm in height, 36.04 mm in width and it weighs 23.4 grams without its suspension. The serial number and the mint mark Monetni Dvor are located at the 6 o’clock position of its reverse. The minimum known serial number for this badge is 381002 and the maximum is 400602.

In superb condition with an appealing patina covering the gold plating which is all present. None of the higher parts on the obverse show any wear and the details are all crisp. The red enamel is absolutely stunning without any dings or scratches. There are no repairs and the connection ring has not been cut. The order comes with a time period double layer steel suspension.

The Order of the Red Banner recognized military deeds. Before the establishment of the Order of Lenin, the order functioned as the highest (and practically the only) military order of the USSR. Practically all well-known Soviet commanders became Cavaliers of this Order. Also awarded to NKVD personnel.
