Soviet Medal for the Salvation of the Drowning
Made out of Made out of gilded non-ferrous metal. It measures 32.17 mm in diameter, 36.84 mm in height including its eyelet and weighs 15.1 gram (not including its suspension).
The medal is in excellent condition with all details present and a fair amount of gold plating still present. It has only few dings or scratches and even the higher laying parts show little wear. Its suspension and ribbon are time period to the medal.
Awarded to any person (of any nationality) for courage; bravery and selflessness whilst rescuing a person/people from water. Also awarded for outstanding resourcefulness preventing drowning or for excellence in organizing of rescue operations in Soviet waters or of Soviet citizens.
