Medal for the Defense of the Polar Region variation 1

Made of brass. Measures 32.02 mm in width, 36.97 mm in height including the eyelet and it weighs 16.5 grams without its suspension. 

This medal is in worn condition with numerous small dings and scratches. Some of the details are worn off on both sides although the main features are still visible. The medal comes with its time period double layer steel suspension.

The Medal “For the Defense of the Soviet Transarctic” was awarded to all participants in the defense of the Soviet Arctic region – soldiers of the Red Army, Navy and troops of the NKVD, as well as persons from the civilian population who took part in the defense of the North.
