Made of gilded brass. Measures 32.07 mm in width, 36.54 mm in height including the eyelet and it weighs 17.2 grams without its suspension.
This medal is in excellent, above average condition with crisp details. Much of the luster is still present and the steel suspension is time period to the medal.
The Medal “For the Defense of the Soviet Transarctic” was awarded to all participants in the defense of the Soviet Arctic region – soldiers of the Red Army, Navy and troops of the NKVD, as well as persons from the civilian population who took part in the defense of the North.
