Medal for the Defense of the Polar Region

Sub-variation with a knob on the handle of the sickle

Made of brass. Measures 32.19 mm in width, 37.45 mm in height including the eyelet and it weighs 17.3 grams without its suspension. 

This medal is in outstanding condition with crisp details and minor wear to he higher laying parts only. Both sides show few light dings and scratches and most of the gold-like luster is still present. The double layer suspension and ribbon are time period to the medal.

Scarce sub-variation, hard to upgrade!

The Medal “For the Defense of the Soviet Transarctic” was awarded to all participants in the defense of the Soviet Arctic region – soldiers of the Red Army, Navy and troops of the NKVD, as well as persons from the civilian population who took part in the defense of the North.
