Medal for the Defense of Stalingrad variation 1
Awarded to Lieutenant Alexander Filippovich Obukhov (Александр Филипович Обухов)
Made of gilded brass. Measures 32.18 mm in width, 36.90 mm in height, including the eyelet and it weighs 16.2 gram without its suspension.
This medal is in excellent condition with its details visible on both sides and light to medium overall wear. It shows several dings and scratches but most gold plating is still present. Its (cut) connection ring, suspension and ribbon are authentic and time period to the medal.
Its accompanying document is in used condition and has been reinforced by a sheet of paper placed at its backside. By the looks of the paper this is done a long time ago and most likely by the awardee or his relatives. It is dated 11 September 1943 and numbered D 48488.
