Soviet Medal for the Defense of Sevastopol Variation 1b-1 WW2
Variation with a raised rim on its obverse and a larger distance between the ends of the naval cap tally
Medal for the Defense of Sevastopol; made of gilded brass. Measures 32.06 mm in width, 36.93 mm in height, including the eyelet and it weighs 16.2 gram.
This original medal is in excellent, above average condition. There are several small dings and scratches but all details are crisp. A fair amount of the gold plating is still present and the double layer steel suspension is time period to the medal.
Scarce to find.
This medal was awarded to all participants in the defense of Sevastopol. Both to soldiers and civilians, who took part in the defense of Sevastopol during its siege by German forces.
