Soviet Medal for the Defense of Sevastopol Variation 1a (first production)
Variation without a raised rim on its obverse
Made of gilded brass. Measures 32.12 mm in width, 37.16 mm in height including the eyelet and it weighs 16.2 gram without its suspension.
This medal is in excellent condition with light overall wear. There are several dings and scratches on both sides but most details like the facial features are perfectly visible. Some of the gold plating is still present although most of it has worn off. The double layer steel suspension and (cut) connection ring are time period to the medal.
Scarce
This medal was awarded to all participants in the defense of Sevastopol. Both to soldiers and civilians, who took part in the defense of Sevastopol during its siege by German forces.
