Soviet Medal for the Defense of Sevastopol
Variation 1b-2 with a raised rim on its obverse and a small distance between the ends of the naval cap tally
Made of gilded brass. Measures 32.14 mm in width, 37.15 mm in height including its eyelet and it weighs 17.1 grams without its suspension.
This original medal is in a fair but worn condition. There are several dings and scratches on both sides but most details on its obverse are still visible. A small amount of the gold plating is still present and the double layer steel suspension is time period to the medal. Its connection ring has been cut.
This medal was awarded to all participants in the defense of Sevastopol. Both to soldiers and civilians, who took part in the defense of Sevastopol during its siege by German forces.
