Soviet Medal for the Defense of Sevastopol Variation 1b-2
Variation with a raised rim on its obverse and a smaller distance between the ends of the naval cap tally
Made of gilded brass. Measures 32.30 mm in width, 37.45 mm in height including its eyelet and it weighs 17.1 gram without its suspension.
This original medal is in an excellent, well above average condition with light overall wear. There are several small dings and scratches on both sides but its details are mostly visible and well defined. A small amount of the gold plating is still present and the double layer steel suspension is time period to the medal. Its connection ring has not been cut.
Scarce
This medal was awarded to all participants in the defense of Sevastopol. Both to soldiers and civilians, who took part in the defense of Sevastopol during its siege by German forces.
