Description
Soviet Medal for the Defense of Odessa Variation 1 WW2
Awarded to Lieutenant Vladimir Mikhailovich Levitsky (Владимир Михайлович Левицкий)
Made of gilded brass. Measures 32.31 mm in width, 37.19 mm in height including its eyelet and it weighs 16.7 gram without its suspension.
This medal is in excellent, well above average condition with light to medium overall wear. There are relatively few dings and scratches and most details of the soldiers and the lighthouse are perfectly visible. Its reverse is in similar condition and clearly shows the edges of the lettering and the hammer & sickle. The double layer suspension is time period to the medal and its connection ring has not been cut.
Its accompanying document is in decent condition with strong folding lines but all parts still attached and without repairs or tape. It is numbered H 09712 and dated 17 October 1943. The number matches the number in the degree as can be seen in the picture gallery.
Hard to find, especially with its early document
