Soviet Medal for the Defense of Odessa
Variation 1 with a separately attached eyelet
Made of brass. Measures 32.37 mm in width, 37.41 mm in height including its eyelet and it weighs 16.9 gram without its suspension.
This medal is in a nice, about average condition with medium overall wear on both sides and most details on its raised parts still visible. There are several small dings and scratches on both sides but none detract from the overall appeal from the medal. The double layer suspension is time period to the medal and its connection ring has been cut.
Increasingly hard to find
This medal was awarded to all participants in the defence of Odessa. Both to soldiers and civilians, who took part in the defence of Odessa during its siege by German forces.
