Document with rare cover
Made of brass. Measures 32.23 mm in diameter, 37.11 mm in height including its eyelet and weighs 16.3 grams without its suspension.
This medal is in excellent condition with crisp details and light overall wear only. Both sides show relatively few dings and scratches and a medium patina to the brass. The double layer steel suspension is time period to the medal and its connection ring has not been cut.
Its accompanying document and cover are in excellent condition with the text perfectly readable. The document is numbered A 025649 and dated 7 August 1944.
The document is housed in an original and rarely seen booklet featuring a colorized embossed image of the medal. Available sources suggest these covers were produced specifically for Moscow residents, defenders of the capital.
