 Mint Error with the wrong reverse struck with a die used for the Medal for the Capture of Vienna
Made out of gold plated brass. Measures 32.07 mm in width and 37.09 mm in height including its eyelet and it weighs 15.9 grams without its suspension.
In excellent condition with its details crisp and few dings and scratches on either side. Its aluminium suspension is time period to the medal.
According to several sources a limited number of medals was struck with a wrong die for its reverse; the one which is used to produce medals for the Capture of Vienna. These medals are hard to find and are very collectible and sought after.Â
