Soviet Medal for the Construction of the Baikal-Amur Railway

Made out of gold plated brass. The medal measures 32.13 mm in diameter, 37.11 mm in height including its eyelet and it weighs 17.2 gram without its suspension. The reverse of the eyelet is stamped ‘LMD’ (ЛМД) for Leningrad mint but only part of the letters are visible.

The medal is in a nice, worn condition with all details crisp with few dings and scratches. It comes with its time period suspension and original ribbon.

Awarded to workers on the Baikul-Amur Railway (BAM). For 2 years outstanding service between 1974 and 1984.
