Soviet medal for the Capture of Budapest
Early variation without a raised rim on its reverse
Made out of gold plated brass. It measures 32.05 mm in diameter, 37.77 mm in height including its eyelet and the medal weighs 16.6 grams without its suspension.
In nice condition with medium wear to its raised details and a fair amount of the gold plating still present. There are several dings and scratches on both sides but none distracting from the overall appeal of the medal. The medal comes with its time period suspension and old ribbon and the bottom of its reverse shows some corrosion.
Awarded to Soviet service personnel who took part in the battle of Budapest between 20 December 1944 and 15 February 1945.
