Soviet medal for the Capture of Budapest WW2
Variation with a raised rim on its reverseÂ
This medal for the Capture of Budapest is made out of gold plated brass. Measures 32.17 mm in diameter, 36.29 mm in height and weighs 16.7 grams (not including its suspension).
The medal is in nice condition with several small dings and scratches on both sides but nothing distracting from the overall appearance of the medal. Both sides show medium wear but most details are still visible and a fair amount of gold plating is still present. The double layer steel suspension is time period to the medal and its connection ring has been cut.
Awarded to Soviet service personnel who took part in the battle of Budapest between 20 December 1944 and 15 February 1945.
