Medal for the Capture of Budapest
Early variation without a raised rim on its reverse
Made of gold plated brass. It measures 32.12 mm in diameter, 37.57 mm in height including its eyelet and the medal weighs 15.9 grams without its suspension.
In excellent condition with its details crisp and much of the original gold plating still present. Both sides show few dings and scratches and even the raised parts like the bottom leaves show light wear only. The medal comes with its time period double layer suspension and old ribbon.
Awarded to Soviet service personnel who took part in the battle of Budapest between 20 December 1944 and 15 February 1945.
