Medal for the Capture of Berlin variation 1
Made of gilded brass. Measures 32.09 mm in width, 37.29 mm in height including the eyelet and it weighs 17.2 grams without its suspension.
This medal is in nice, about average condition most details visible and a small amount of its original gold plating still present (mainly on its reverse). There are several small dings and scratches on both sides and its aluminium suspension is of a later period.
The Medal “For the Capture of Berlin” was awarded to soldiers of the Red Army, Navy, and troops of the NKVD, direct participants of the assault and capture of the city as well as to the organizers and leaders of combat operations in the capture of this city.
