Soviet Medal for the Capture of Berlin variation 2 (U-shaped eyelet)
Made of gilded brass. Measures 32.28 mm in width, 37.15 mm in height including the eyelet and it weighs 17.3 grams without its suspension.
In nice condition with its details still visible and several dings and scratches on both sides but none distracting from the overall appeal of the medal. Some of the gold plating is still present but most has worn off. The medal comes with an aluminium suspension.
The Medal “For the Capture of Berlin” was awarded to soldiers of the Red Army, Navy, and troops of the NKVD, direct participants of the assault and capture of the city as well as to the organizers and leaders of combat operations in the capture of this city.
