Soviet Medal for the Capture of Berlin variation 1
Made of gilded brass. Measures 32.30 mm in width, 37.36 mm in height including the eyelet and it weighs 16.5 grams without its suspension.
This medal is in excellent, above average condition most details crisp and much of its original gold plating still present. There are several small dings and scratches but none distracting from the overall appeal of the medal. The double layer suspension is time period to the medal and its connection ring has been cut.
The Medal “For the Capture of Berlin” was awarded to soldiers of the Red Army, Navy, and troops of the NKVD, direct participants of the assault and capture of the city as well as to the organizers and leaders of combat operations in the capture of this city.
