Soviet Medal for the 20th Anniversary of the RKKA with document
Awarded to Lieutenant of the State Security Ivan Semenovich Matrosov (Иван Семенович Матросов)
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 32.22 mm in diameter and 35.63 mm in height (including the eyelet). It weighs 24.3 grams and is 3.77 mm in thickness.
In a nice, about average condition with medium overall wear and most details present. The soldier’s eyes, fingers and rifle for example, are all visible. The enamels are without repairs or chipping but shows several scratches and dings. Its suspension is a replacement for the old rectangular one which was customary to do after new 1943 regulations on wearing awards. The brass connection ring is possibly original to the old suspension.
Its accompanying document is in excellent condition and is numbered 033453 and dated 6 November 1938. It contains an original image of Lt. Matrosov
