Medal for Distinction in Guarding the State Border of the USSR
Early solid silver variation (1950s)
Made of solid silver. It measures 32.07 mm in width and 2.76 mm in thickness at the very edge of the medal. The height of the medal is 37.05 mm (including the eyelet) and it weighs 21.5 grams without its suspension.
The medal is in excellent condition with crisp details. It shows almost no wear and even the details at the higher laying parts are perfectly visible. Both sides show an appealing patina. Its connection ring has not been cut and the medal comes with its time period double layer steel suspension and ribbon.
Scarce piece and next to impossible to upgrade. Scarce
Awarded to K.G.B. Border Troops personnel for military or other actions displaying excellence in guarding the Soviet borders.
