Soviet Medal for Combat Merit
Variation with a flat eyelet 1940s-1950s
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 32.22 mm in diameter and 2.30 mm in thickness. The height of the medal is 37.19 mm (including the eyelet) and it weighs 18.1 gram without its suspension.
This medal for Military Merit medal is excellent condition with its details crisp. Even the higher laying parts on its obverse show little wear and all enamel is present. The obverse of the medal shows only a few dings and scratches and both sides show an appealing patine. The medal comes with its time period brass suspension and uncut connection ring.
This military medal awarded for “combat action resulting in a military success”; “courageous defense of the state borders”; or “successful military and political training and preparation”. Also awarded for 10 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
