Made of solid silver and lacquer. The medal itself measures 32.14 mm in diameter and 37.14 mm in height including the eyelet. It weighs 16.7 grams without its suspension.
The medal is in about average condition with several dings and scratches and medium wear to the raised areas. Most details are still visible and some of the red lacquer filling the lettering CCCP remains present.
Its medal booklet is in good condition with all pages present and still attached to the cover. The booklet mentions this Medal for Combat Merit alone.
Brief translation of the citation:
Assistant to the company commander, soldier of the 50th separate rifle company, Sergeant Akhtyrsky Nikolai Ignatievich, as a participant in the battles for the Motherland in combat against the German-fascist invaders on the Volkhov Front where he was severely wounded.
Born in 1914, member of the VKP(b), Russian; drafted into the Red Army on 1 July 1942 by the Sokolniki District Military Commissariat, Moscow.
