Group of Soviet medals consisting of 3(!) Medals for Bravery
Awarded to Private Sapper/Scout Vasily Dmitrievich Sidelnikov (Василий Дмитриевич Сидельников)
For repulsing an enemy reconnaissance group while being under heavy mortar and machine gun fire, knocking out an armored personnel carrier and annihilating 20 enemy soldiers

Medal for Bravery #1926060
Made of solid silver. Measures 42.55 mm in height including its eyelet, 37.40 mm in width and it weighs 31.3 gram. The medal is in a nice, worn condition but with crisp details. There are several small dings and scratches and the red lacquer has all been worn off which is often seen with these combat awards. Its connection ring has not been cut and there have been no repairs.
Medal for Bravery #2061709
Made of solid silver. Measures 41.86 mm in height including its eyelet, 37.38 mm in width and it weighs 27.2 gram. The medal is in a nice, similar condition as the previous one. Its details are all present but the red lacquer is lost. Its connection ring has not been cut and there have been no repairs.
Medal for Bravery #2969997
Made of solid silver. Measures 42.44 mm in height including its eyelet, 37.39 mm in width and it weighs 26.9 gram. The medal resembles the condition of the previous two medals and like the other two medals has a similar patina on both sides. Which, of course, is what one would expect. The connection ring of this medal has not been cut either and there have been no repairs.
Medal for the Victory over Germany
Made of gold plated brass. Measures 36.96 mm in height, 32.17 mm in width and it weighs 15.7 gram. In excellent condition with light wear only and full gold plating.
Jubilee Medal “Twenty Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945”
Made of gold plated brass. Measures 36.81 mm in height including its eyelet, 32.16 mm in width and it weighs 16.3 gram. Excellent example with a nice toning to the gold plating.
Jubilee Medal “50 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR”
Made of gold plated brass. Measures 41.96 mm in height, 37.07 mm in width and it weighs 23.8 gram. Also in excellent condition and similar toning of the gold plating as the previous two medals.

Bravery Medal #1926060
To sapper of the engineer sapper platoon of the Red Army, soldier SIDELNIKOV VASILY DMITRIEVICH, for the fact that despite mortar- and machine-gun fire and an enemy reconnaissance group, that fired at the sappers during the work, he managed to repulse the reconnaissance group of the enemy together with senior sergeant YAKOVENKO, through the Ushcha rivers. Thanks to the courage shown by Red Army soldier SIDELNIKOV, the crossing was made during the time, as a result of which the infantry, materiel and communications were shipped in a timely manner.
Bravery Medal #2061709
In the offensive battle with the breakthrough of the enemy’s defense with the overcoming of the water barrier in the region west of the city of Siauliai from the 5th to the 9th of October 1944, Comrade Sidelnikov, showing himself to be a steely, courageous and self-possessed fighter. The Germans trying to stop the advance of our units launched a counterattack by force to the infantry battalion with the support of tanks. The gun, in the crew of which was Comrade Sidelnikov, with stroke swung opened fire on the counterattacking Germans. Working charging, comrade Sidelnikov, despite the strong artillery mortar fire of the enemy, boldly loaded the gun, thus ensuring the uninterrupted shooting of the gun. During defeating the counterattack, the gun suppressed the fire of two machine guns, smashed one enemy 75mm cannon, knocked out an armored personnel carrier and annihilated up to 20 enemy soldiers.
The enemy, suffering great losses, was repulsed. For showing coolness and courage in battle, comrade Sidelnikov is worthy of the government award of the medal “For Courage”.
Bravery Medal #2969997
Scout of the 8th battery, 97 Guards Artillery Regiment, Guards Private SIDELNIKOV Vasily Dmitrievich. In battle, on February 22, 1945, he established by his observation the location of 2 enemy machine guns and an accumulation of infantry, up to 25 people, and reported this to his command in a timely manner, so that they were destroyed by the fire of our artillery.
