Complete Documented Group of an Order of the Red Star and Glory 3rd class

 

Щепкин Афанасий Михайлович

 

Awarded to Colonel Afanasy Mikhailovich Shchepkin (Афанасий Михайлович Щепкин)

 

Col. Shchepkin was highly decorated and received an Order of Suvorov, Nevsky and 2 Red Banners

 

Both numbered awards were awarded for length of service

 

 

Order of the Red Star #2531765

Made of silver and enamels. Measures 48.76 mm in width, 47.20 mm in height and weighs 33.2 grams without its screwplate.

In excellent condition with light overall wear. The enamels are well preserved and without repairs and show some minor dings and contact marks only. The raised areas on its obverse are mostly visible and the screwplate is time period to the order. Its screw has not been shortened.

 

Medal for Combat Merit #3042280

Made of silver. Measures 32.09 mm in diameter, 37.24 mm in height and weighs 17.6 grams without its suspension.

In worn but presentable condition with most details still visible and an appealing dark patina to the silver. The red lacquer filling the lettering is worn off and both sides show several dings and scratches. Its connection has not been cut.

 

Medal for the Defense of the Caucasus 

Made of brass. Measures 32.06 mm in diameter, 37.00 mm in height and weighs 16.5 grams without its suspension.

This medal is in excellent condition with crisp details and much of the original gold-like luster present. Its connection ring has been cut.

 

Medal for Victory over Germany 

Made of brass. Measures 32.10 mm in diameter, 37.33 mm in height and weighs 16.4 grams without its suspension.

The In similar condition as the previous medal with much of the original luster present on both sides and most details visible.

 

Jubilee medals for 30 and 40 years of the RKKA 

Both in problem free condition
