Group of Soviet Campaign Medals

 

Awarded to Lt. Konstantin Vasilevich Antonov (Константин Васильевич Антонов)  

 

 

Medal for the Defense of Sevastopol (variation 1a without a raised rim on its obverse):

Made of gilded brass. Measures 32.13 mm in width, 37.02 mm in height including the eyelet and it weighs 17.5 gram without its suspension.

This medal is in decent but polished condition with medium to strong wear on both sides. A fair amount of details however are all visible including those on the higher laying parts like the eyelets of the sailor and soldier. The double layer suspension is time period to the medal and its connection ring has been cut.

The medal comes with its document dated ’23 July 1943′ and is numbered ‘Ж 06600’.

 

Medal for the Defense of the Caucasus:

Made of gilded brass. Measures 32.13 mm in width, 37.12 mm in height including the eyelet and it weighs 17.4 gram without its suspension.

This medal is in excellent condition with several small dings and scratches and light wear on both sides only.  All details are present and crisp with sharp edges to the lettering. The brass suspension is time period to the medal and its connection ring has been cut.

The medal comes with its document dated ’27 August 1945′ and is numbered ‘M 015261’. Its document number matches that from the document on Pamyat Naroda (see picture galley)

 

Medal for the Victory over Germany:

Made of gilded brass. Measures 32.24 mm in width, 37.29 mm in height including the eyelet and it weighs 16.8 gram without its suspension.

This medal is in splendit condition with full gold plating and some light wear on Stalin’s face only. The brass suspension is time period to the medal.

Its accompanying document is dated ’20 April 1946′ and numbered ‘Y 0041432’

 

Jubilee Medal for 20 years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War:

Made of gilded brass. Measures 32.10 mm in width, 37.08 mm in height, including the eyelet and it weighs 16.4 gram without its suspension.

In excellent condition with most gold plating present and crisp details. Its suspension and correctly folded ribbon are time period to the medal.

Its accompanying document is dated ’16 November 1966′ and numbered ‘A 5928818’
