Documented group of an Order of the Red Banner of Labor and an Order of the Badge of Honor
Awarded to Eduard Martynovich Leitman (Эдуард Мартынович Лейтман)
For the successful production of tanks and SPGs at he Chelyabinsk “Kirov” armour production plant
Leitman is mentioned in one of the prosecutor charges from 1942 in which he was accused of bending the rules in order to gets more privileges
Order of the Badge of Honor #35695
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 50.21 mm in height, 34.35 mm in width and it weighs 37.5 gram without its suspension. The mint mark Monetni Dvor and the serial number are located at the bottom of its reverse.
This order is in outstanding condition with stunning enamels and perfect details. Even the higher laying parts such as the faces of the man and woman are well defined. There have been no repairs and the double layer steel suspension and ribbon are original to the order. Its connection ring has not been cut.
Next to impossible to upgade for a wartime order!
Order of the Red Banner of Labor #129579
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 51.67 mm in height, 38.17 mm in width and it weighs 35.7 gram without its suspension.
Like the Badge of Honor this order is in pristine condition with beautiful red, blue and white enamels. Most of the gold plating is still present and there have been no repairs. Both the double layer steel suspension and ribbon are original to the order. Its connection ring has not been cut.

The wartime order booklet is in excellent condition too and mentions both awards only. It contains an original picture of Leitman.

Research to the Badge of Honor:
The Badge of Honor was bestowed by the decree of 14.09.1943 “For successful production of tanks and SPGs” (self-propelled guns).
Leitman was a secretary of the department party organisation at he Chelyabinsk “Kirov” armour production plant.
He is mentioned in one of the prosecutor charges from 1942, in which he is mentioned personally among others who bend the rules in order to gets more material privileges.
There was a recommendation to initiate a trial but this eventually did not happen.
